Electronic commerce has quickly become a necessary and valuable element of doing business. The inexorable improvements in the underlying technologies enable more functional and complex e-commerce applications. The advances create both opportunities and challenges for researchers, developers, and employers of e-commerce systems.

The goal of the Third International Symposium on Electronic Commerce (ISEC-02) is to provide a forum for researchers, developers and business users to share and disseminate information about current important research and application issues concerning electronic commerce.
